I was anxious to see my brothers with just the 2% and was kind of disappointed as only 1 Ashkenazi showed up from Ukraine at 1 distance. After seeing the origins my brother still felt he was gentile. Myself on the other hand knew God was a hundred percent Ydna. Ydna has rarely changed this being the reason I asked my brother to do the test, myself paying for them. I was the one wanting the info.
Individuals' knowledge of DNA
Most people don't understand genetics like these companies do. After me getting these tests the Ydna they give you a general haplotype and try to get you to buy more and get a confirmed haplogroup, most never do that. Interesting on their forum I was recommended not to get children or grandchildren done. With the world we lived in it is to easy to maybe find out they don't belong to you. Kind of like "who's your Daddy" I knew even in divorce cases Dad's having to pay support for children not proven to be theirs. This should be a mandatory testing to me and an easy thing for courts to do and require. There are promiscuous women, I found out sperm can live 5 days so multiple men could happen, egg comes it gets fertilized by who? Well God does decide those things, the courts shouldn't.
House of Israel and Levites
Things stayed about the same, once you have some info you do go searching to see what you can find on things. Blogs used to come up searching on house of Israel and house of Levi as they pretty much had those pegged. Yet there were arguments about which were Levites the R's or J's. You found blogs with DNA stories a lot back then as well. It wasn't till I think 2019 because of working again then on my family tree plus finding out my granddaughter had done her DNA at ancestry I decided to do mine and also wanted to prove to brother 2% would show up in me. I chose ancestry because of these things.
I paid for the Ydna 37 markers for both as it was recommended to be lowest level looking for Jewish bloodlines. My brother had no matches yet on his 5 generation there were people listed. second to forth generation distance some with R-M 269 they put his haplogroup as a general area. Of course I, with the testing, I uploaded to familytree do show up as full sibling to my brother. I will get into that on next post
