Ydna Results Cohen Match Badge

As I mentioned in the last post House of Levi Ydna, the first test results that came back was the 5 generation  that you get from all the well known companies.  Being recommended to get both tests searching for Jewish bloodlines, but Familytree kept telling people Jewish is a religion not a bloodline.  So a better term that should have maybe been used is tracing House of Israel.  While I waited my results, I would go read on their forum there were people questioning all kinds of things.  Some Jewish people upset as they didn't show them being Jewish and they were that religion.  Others wanting to know regarding the very low percentage of Ashkenazi in them.

Back when I did the testing the only branch of Jews Familytreedna tracked was Ashkenazi, so some families from different branches bothered by their results.  I finally got my husbands report, I think I got it first.  Immediately on his, he got a badge saying Cohen match badge which they believed to be sons of Aaron.  I was surprised to see that one for sure, I was expecting to see Ashkenazi though.  When I then opened the origins of his Ydna a list of all the countries he was tied to so many I was shocked at that.  In certain countries he had so many matches they would put brackets around a number listing how many.  Went through most the countries.. some with none and others with a lot so I will put a snap of kind of what it looked like:

It was a few pages as it showed different distances this one was based on their 12 exact match and was large listing countries with Jewish testing.  It surprised me the list of countries even though he did not match with people in all the countries.

Reasons for DNA Testing

DNA and Ydna has changed since I started the investigation in 2017 People get DNA things done for many reasons and depending on the reason do different types od DNA tests.. Some do it wanting to solve family mysteries most though just out of curiosity and for a time it was a thing to do. I had things done for a purpose and got the ones I wanted done got their permission and I paid for testing. So just me with the interest, however two others got it done for curiosity and never did anything but look at it and then they were done with it. One a nephew did talk about it initially; he found out from me where his

5 generation DNA place to start

Pedigrees in the Bible are talked about and they represent bloodlines.  The pedigree was of the house of the father.  So the tribes of Israel was counted by men.  Numbers 1:18 (KJV) And they assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month, and they declared their pedigrees after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, by their polls.

This was the reason I had my brother do our paternal lines.  What caused the DNA to begin with was the oral said that my husband's grandfather was Jewish.  Yet no record or talk within the family.  I was told this by a daughter of his grandpa's so his aunt.

DNA & Scripture didn't add up

The first thing completed was just the 5 generational DNA.  I noticed right off the bat that it was wrong in how they did percentages of his Jewish heritage.  God to me was a 100% God with the male seed.  So to explain it in biblical terms, they were saying Aaron's sons were 100% but Moses sons would only be 50% Israel.  You had to be married to another Jew to count for 100%.  The same thing would have happened to Joseph as he didn't marry a Jew either, yet Jacob took his two sons and made them like firstborns.

It did however prove what I was told by the aunt was correct, even though they put him at 22% when first done. It is only the ancient Ydna could reveal even more, so we waited for that to be completed.
